  Health anxiety is a common and often debilitating condition across medical and mental health settings. This EAPM Academy webinar provides a clinically relevant overview of health anxiety, covering diagnosis, core features, comorbidities, and evidence-based treatments from childhood through adulthood. Through clinical cases, the session highlights practical strategies for managing avoidance and rumination, with a strong focus on exposure-based interventions. Emerging insights into health anxiety in children and adolescents, including health anxiety by proxy and family patterns, are also explored.

  The conference theme is:
  “HEALTH – a multifaceted psychosomatic concept”

  The 13^th Annual Scientific Conference of the European Association for Psychosomatic Medicine (EAPM) will take place at the Conference Centre Nuovo Ingresso di Careggi in Florence, Italy from 16-19 June 2026. The theme is “Health: a multifaceted psychosomatic concept”.

  EAPM2026 will be a dynamic event in which to exchange ideas and scientific projects with clinicians and researchers. It will offer a high-qual­ity, multidisciplinary scientific programme with reviews of important topics and reports of the latest developments in our field.

  Master Classes will be available before the conference begins. In addition, this year the EAPM Academy will launch its first pre-conference course, entitled “A primer in psychosomatic research”. This is targeted at the needs of those new to the field and especially early research careers.

  The scientific programme will comprise plenary lectures by outstanding keynote speakers. These will include the new Carus Foundation lecture. There will also be symposia, workshops, case presentations, short oral presentations and poster presentations.  Awards will be given to support conference attendance, for the best posters presented during the congress and for the greenest travel. The Creed Award presentation will recognize a person who has attained extraordinary academic and research achievement in our field. For details on awards click here.

  We also plan an array of activities that will allow participants the opportunity to interact and network with colleagues from around the world, both during the Conference and in the leisure time. The latter will include the Conference dinner, which will be hosted at the beautiful Botanical Garden in the heart of the city, and also special excursions that will allow to experience the different facets of health, from an Italian perspective.
